If you’ve spent any time in the fertility world, y If you’ve spent any time in the fertility world, you’ve probably been told you need approximately 47 supplements and a color-coded pill organizer. 😅

Trust me, I’ve been there.

The truth? There isn’t one magic supplement that guarantees pregnancy. But there are a handful with evidence to support metabolic health, blood sugar regulation, and hormone function, which can all play a role in fertility.

As an endocrinology PA, these are some of the supplements I think are worth talking about:

My biggest piece of advice, though?

When women with PCOS lose weight and their cycles come back, everyone celebrates the weight loss. The doctor says “great, keep it up.” The apps reward you. You feel like you finally cracked the code.

But the weight wasn’t the problem.

High insulin was telling your ovaries to produce testosterone instead of ovulating. High insulin was making your body hold onto fat, especially around your middle. High insulin was blocking the whole hormonal chain that leads to a mature egg being released.

When you changed your food, moved your body, and supported your blood sugar, insulin came down. Then ovulation became possible. Then weight shifted. In that order.

Why does this actually matter?

Because if you’re lean and have PCOS, you might be sitting there thinking this doesn’t apply to you.

It does.

You don’t need a number on the scale to change. You need your insulin environment to change.

And I work with women on exactly that, regardless of what they weigh.

If I had a limited grocery budget, I’d prioritize:

🍓 Frozen berries
🥣 Greek yogurt
🫘 Beans
🥬 Frozen vegetables
🥜 Peanut butter
🍗 Chicken
